British Airways to Launch London Gatwick-Colombo Flights from 23 October 2026

British Airways has announced a major expansion of its network for the Winter 2026 season, including the introduction of two new destinations, Melbourne in Australia and Colombo in Sri Lanka marking the airline’s return to Sri Lanka for the first time since 2015.

The airline will commence flights between London Gatwick and Colombo on 23 October 2026, operating three times per week during the winter season. The seasonal service will provide travellers with a direct connection to Sri Lanka, a destination known for its scenic beaches, wildlife, vibrant culture, and rich cuisine.

The flights will be operated by the airline’s Boeing B777 fleet in a three-class configuration, offering Club World (long-haul business class), World Traveller Plus (premium economy) and World Traveller (economy).

Tickets are available for booking from 17 March 2026, with return fares starting from USD 870 in World Traveller and USD 3,765 in Club World.

Hayleys Aviation serves as the General Sales Agent (GSA) for British Airways in Sri Lanka, managing the airline’s commercial and sales operations in the local market.
